What is a master cylinder?

The master cylinder is a hydraulic control device that converts physical pressure (commonly from a driver's foot) into hydraulic pressure to operate other device(s) in the hydraulic system. The most common automotive uses of master cylinders are in brake and clutch systems. The operated device in the clutch system is called the slave cylinder. In brake systems, the operated devices are brake calipers and/or wheel cylinders.
Brake master cylinder is the part that amplifies foot pedal pressure for timely brake system actuations.. It builds up pressure to put brake system mechanisms to work. To enjoy powerful and highly responsive brake system performance and eliminate risk of failure, you must always invest on durable and high quality brake system and component replacements.

What is a wheel cylinder assembly?

As one of the vital components of the braking system, wheel cylinders are what apply the rear brake shoe to the drum in order to bring your car to a stop. It consists of a cylinder that has two pistons, one on each side. A rubber seal and a shaft are placed on each piston that links the piston to the brake shoe. When pressure is applied, the pistons are pushed out causing the shoes to come in contact with the drum; thus allowing your car to stop.

Proper maintenance and inspection of the part though is vital to ensure of its reliable service life. A leaking wheel cylinder is often a common sign of failure. A soft pedal due to the brake fluid leaking out is an indication of a worn out wheel cylinder.  For your wheel cylinder replacement need, our online site stocks premium quality and high end wheel cylinders built by leading manufacturers.
